It’s your Funeral!
Funerals can be uplifting and maybe even FUN!
How will you plan yours?
A funeral should fulfil the wishes of the deceased and not the audience!
I have already given instructions for mine and want people to remember the good bits, the fun, the laughs, Even the fact I have chosen ‘Anything for You!’ by Gloria Estefan is funny because it might make them howl but is funny because that is the intention. They will get the irony.
A Civil funeral is the choice of many because it about what you want. I don’t want a humanist funeral because I feel in the vigorous non-religiousness it is sanctimonious in its faithlessness.
It’s your event and you can do whatever you like!
My intention, as a Civil Celebrant is to do just that, celebrate who you are, what you want and what you did in your very fabulous life. If you wish to have a friend sing a hymn, read from the Koran with a highland dancer in the background dancing to the bagpipes then that’s exactly what you should have.
