Humanist Weddings

Is a Humanist wedding legal?

Yes it is in Scotland?

Since 2005!

When you choose a humanist wedding it gives you the freedom to put your personal stamp on one of the biggest days of your life.

Humanist wedding have been legal in Scotland since 2005 and also have legal status everywhere else in the world. Each year the grow even more in popularity. Caledonian Association Celebrants are authorised by the Registrar General to conduct legal weddings and civil partnerships. Also, if you wanted to have a non-legal celebration of your union, let’s say, if you married abroad, they would be happy to write the ceremony for you and conduct the ceremony.

I, for example got married in Italy and had I known it was possible I would have had a celebration here in Scotland for the people who were not able to make it to Italy. I did however have a renewal of my vows and this is another beautiful way we can support you to celebrate with friends and family.

If you have ever been to a Humanist wedding you will know it has the couple at the centre, it is their story and love which is celebrated. The honour of listening and writing these magical tales to celebrate the life of two people who have chosen in front of friends and family to make this commitment, is very special.

If you are getting married I would love to help you tell your story so, please, get in touch.

Till the next time!
