Is it too early to put up your Christmas tree?

I know where I’d like to put my tree – right up a pert sanctimonious bottom!

This year has been stolen by Covid19 and reinforced by the Covidiots20 who spread theories and conspiracies while also spewing bile and droplets of falsehood. Maybe you are immune to the virus and the truth but others are scared!

Have we lost respect for others?

Business Secretary Alok Sharma wants his mum and dad at the Christmas and good for him but I have no chance of that because they live in another country. Finland has had no ‘real’ problems with the virus as they acted very quickly. They have had 371 deaths this far.

Should we be asking for advice from them?

Or are we too stupid, proud, ignorant to the fact others acted swiftly and seem to know what they are doing?

With this new lockdown by Nicola Stern-Doom are we being punished like children to ‘do what we’re telt’ or else?

Christmas Eve is on a Thursday and followed by a bank holiday on the Monday so this gives workers a 4 day break and hopefully they will spend it with their families. NHS staff have already had their festive leave cancelled or they have volunteered to work anyway.

We all need to take responsibility and look at the science. Allowing people to mix over the festive season will, no doubt, lead to increased 

What to do about Christmas is delicately poised?

This will be my tree this year hanging with the relics of lost nights out with friends and memories of Christmas past but I will light the candles with hope of a healthy and happier new year. As I ponder on what 2021 will be like I dream of beaches and cuddles with my grandchildren, making new memories and putting this behind me.

On the one hand, allowing mixing over the festive period will undoubtedly lead to an increase in infections and there are concerns about the lockdown being more limited than hoped. Infections are yet to decrease and we all need to be vigilant and not listen to the ill-informed mask less vigilantes who get their education from TikTok and Trump

Lets do the right thing and get back to some normality and see our friends and family. Hug the people we love and live to tell the tale to our grandchildren about how we survived the fight against Coronavirus and Idiocy!
